Thank you for supporting the 2008
New Zealand International Science Festival!

Make a wish for 2010

Large festivals like the Science Festival take time to organise. That's why we are already thinking about what will be hot in 2010. Do you have good ideas or is there a specific topic you would like to see covered during the next Science Festival?

Please let us know and we'll try our best to make the next Science Festival even more interesting and fun for you. Send us your ideas and wishes!

Nearly 11,000 to attend Science Festival 2008

An economic impact survey shows that 10,700 visitors attended the 2008 New Zealand International Science Festival of which about a quarter came from out of town to take part in events, workshops and attend shows and presentation. Among the most popular events were the University Expo, the Cadbury World Mad Scientist, and the Science Art exhibitions in the Skeggs Gallery and the Otago Art Society. Nigel Latta and Dr. Cordelia Fine were the most popular talks in 2008.
When asked how satisfied they were with the Science Festival overall, 94.2% stated they were very satisfied or satisfied. Some comments made were:

"The opportunity to do things just would not ordinarily do"

"Open to everyone to attend. Free to attend. World-class speaking"

"Fantastic family fun, very well organised and it gets better every two years"

"Great job - can't wait for the next one!!!"

Look out for our Eco-bags!

The two winning designs of this year's 'I like...' eco-bag competition have been printed on a total of 2,200 bags. They will be available at Centre City New World in Dunedin soon.

So look out for them to make your environmental contribution!
